Safety Case DevelopmentSafety Case Development

A Safety Case is vitally important to the Safety Management Process of an organisation because it demonstrates to personnel, management, stake holders and regulators that all hazards are adequately managed and that all risks at a facility are tolerable and as low as reasonably practicable.  A Safety Case may be required by the regulator or it may be required by a company’s management system.

In our experience we’ve found that the development of a safety case is beneficial to a company in the following ways:

  • it ensures awareness of all potential hazards
  • it defines the Emergency Response System for an organisation
  • it demonstrates that potential risks are tolerable
  • it provides a central location for all relevant information
  • it provides a ‘road map’ for Safety/HSE Management
  • it gives a common basis for all audits
