Co-founder and Director of Vanguard Solutions, Brendan has over 29 years of industry experience. Brendan's specific expertise lies in feasibility and conceptual design, modification, optimisation and safety/risk assessment of new and existing facilities, topsides, FPSO and pipeline systems.

Paul Breen
As Technical Director of Vanguard Solutions, Paul is responsible for the technical knowledge, methodologies and software resources used by the company. Widely respected for his technical expertise, he has been engaged as a risk management consultant on significant oil & gas projects in the Australasian region and in the North Sea.
Achievements and Past Experience
- Previous employers include British Nuclear Fuels and Taylor Woodrow in the UK nuclear industry
- Has held senior positions as a consultant in safety, reliability and risk management with AEA Technology, Brown & Root and AMEC and project management roles within North Sea operations
- Managed HSE function within the Woodside Development Engineering Consultancy
- Served on UK Department of Trade and Industry steering committee for the design of robotic hardware
- Experienced in Land and Marine Engineering, specifically in the design of directional drilling systems, subsea systems and offshore construction equipment.
Ian Bett
Ian is Vanguard Solutions Co-founder and Director and also heads up our European office based in London. Ian's vast experience includes all aspects of Formal Safety Assessments and Risk Assessments, emergency response training and explosion modelling.
