Vanguard Solutions' corporate principles are the core beliefs held by our company. They govern and guide our day-to-day business activities and provide assurances to our clients regarding our commitments.

Health, Safety, Environment and Quality
One of the principal management objectives of Vanguard Solutions is to provide high quality services which meet the contractual requirements and expectations of our clients as well as regulatory concerns of the appropriate authorities.
In order to achieve this, Vanguard Solutions have established an effective HSEQ Management System which monitors our status in delivering key project objectives, following corporate requirements and adhering to ethical and policy guidelines.
Vanguard Solutions places the highest priority on the protection of health, safety and the environment (HSE), both in our own operations and in our interaction with external resources.
All team members are required to recognise and accept their responsibility to maintain, as far as is reasonably practicable, a workplace that is free from health, safety and environmental hazards and are required to report hazards and unsafe work practices to their supervisors immediately.
All Vanguard personnel are required to adhere to and apply the company's HSE Policy, Quality Policy and Ethics Policy in all of their activities on behalf of the company.
HSE Policy
The Vanguard Solutions Group of companies places the highest priority on the protection of health, safety and the environment both in its own operations and in its interaction with external individuals, organisations and workplaces. The Directors of Vanguard Solutions are committed, to meeting or exceeding the safety, health and environmental standards expected of an engineering consultancy and employer by its employees, the community and Government.
Our objectives:
- To give the highest priority to health, safety and environmental considerations;
- To encourage a culture of proceeding with work only if health, safety and environmental concerns are identified, understood and adequately addressed;
- To institute and utilise a HSE management system, as an integral part of its business operations, to provide assurance that all hazards are identified, eliminated or controlled;
- To provide for health management and where required, rehabilitation of all employees;
- To ensure that visitors to the Vanguard Solutions Group of companies' premises are briefed on the health, safety and environmental policy and the requirements that policy may place upon them;
- To ensure that Vanguard Solutions Group of companies' personnel when they visit the premises of other companies or are working within other organisations, comply as a minimum with Vanguard Solutions Group of companies' policies and also with the policies of the company or premises being visited.
- To demonstrate, by its practices and application of this health, safety and environment policy, leadership in the field of health, safety and environment management and management systems.

Quality Policy
The Vanguard Solutions Group of companies specialises in providing high quality solutions to business and industry in the management of safety, environment, risk and reliability. The Company is therefore committed to ensuring that all aspects of its business are carried out to the highest standards of quality.
Our objectives:
- attract and retain the highest quality personnel and provide them with appropriate tools and working environment;
- familiarise all Vanguard Solutions personnel with this policy and the Quality Management System through induction and ongoing training;
- administer an effective Quality Management System to ensure compliance with contractual and legislative requirements and with Vanguard Solutions' quality objectives;
- administer the Quality Management System to meet the intent and requirements of Australian Standard AS/ISO 9001-2000;
- carry out audits of the application of the Quality Management System at regular intervals and to close out any actions arising in a timely manner;
- continually review the Quality Management System to identify improvements to its effectiveness;
- incorporate appropriate checks within the Quality Management System to provide assurance of quality in all Company activities and products;
- encourage clients of the Company to carry out, at any time, audits of the Company's systems that are applied to their jobs.
All Vanguard Solutions personnel are required to adhere to and apply this policy in all of their activities on behalf of the Company.

Ethics Policy
The Vanguard Solutions Group of companies is committed to carrying out its business in an ethical and professional manner. The Company will give full support and backing to all its personnel who carry out their activities in an ethical manner.
Our Objectives:
- The Company shall comply with all laws in Australia and in any other country in which work is performed. Where there is a conflict between Australian law and the law of another such country, the matter is to be referred to the Directors for resolution.
- Personnel shall avoid entering into business dealings that may be considered illegal, unethical, immoral or reflect adversely on the integrity of the individual or the Company.
- Personnel are prohibited from receiving, directly or indirectly, from any person, company or body anything of a significant value in connection with a transaction entered into by the Company.
- Personnel shall disclose, as soon as they become apparent, any conflicts of interest that arise between themselves and the Company, as described in Company procedures.
- Personnel shall not disclose confidential or proprietary information relating to the Company or its clients to personnel outside the Company without Company authorisation.
- Personnel who are granted access to a client's offices, files and systems must treat all information thereby obtained as confidential and not divulge it to third parties, unless authorised to do so by the client.
- Personnel who inadvertently become aware of sensitive, confidential or otherwise privileged information through the access granted to them by a client must immediately notify the client and a Director of the Company.
- Personnel working on secondment in a client's establishment must be aware of the potential for conflicts between the interests of the client and those of the Company. Should such a conflict become apparent, the individual must notify the client and a Director of the Company.
- Personnel should seek guidance from the Directors of the Company if they are unsure of the ethical status of a proposed action, if an activity or undertaking is proposed that is not covered by these practices or where a conflict with this policy may arise.
A failure to act in an ethical business manner is grounds for immediate disciplinary action up to and including summary dismissal.
